As I walk over Waterloo Bridge every morning I see a large, black seabird perched by the river. There is something almost Pterosaur-like about him. He has become part of my daily routine, like a little friend I pass every day.
Today I finally did a bit of research and I was slightly disappointed to find he wasn't the super rare bird that I had imagined only my beady eyes had spied, instead he's an incredibly common Cormorant.
Embarrassingly when I first noticed him swimming in the Thames a month or so ago I thought he was a (very tiny) seal. I think I'll be a little sad when he finally flies away.
